Chris Weitz will not direct Breaking Dawn
The Twilight Saga: New Moon director Chris Weitz taking on a producer role in American Pie 4 came about, but the possibility that Weitz could still helm The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn lingered on.
That is, until the Gossip Cop confirmed that Chris Weitz will not be coming back for the movie.
“Gossip Cop has received official confirmation from Chris Weitz’s rep that he will not be directing the film(s).”
GC points out that the decision remained with Weitz on this issue.
“Ultimately, it was Weitz’s decision . . . We’re also told Summit is currently looking at top-tier directors to helm the final “Twilight” film(s).”
So, despite the vested fan interest in seeing Chris Weitz reprise his spot behind the Breaking Dawn camera, it appears that he will not.

New Moon Director Promises Eclipse Will Be ‘Steamy’
Chris Weitz, who directed New Moon, the second installment in the Twilight series, says he has read the script for this summer’s third installment, Eclipse – and that one scene in particular is a scorcher. “I’m looking forward to the sleeping bag scene, I gotta say,” Weitz tells PEOPLE. “That’s going to be very steamy.”
In Eclipse’s fan-favorite “tent scene,” – spoiler alert! – a freezing Bella, who is on the run from evil vamp Victoria, gets a warm-up from werewolf Jacob when he squeezes into her sleeping bag – while a jealous Edward looks on. Weitz also says he is eager to see Edward’s vampire “parents,” played by Elizabeth Reaser and Peter Facinelli, sink their teeth into Eclipse’s more intense action.
“I voted for her of course, because she’s my homie,” says Weitz, adding that New Moon – which is being released on DVD and Blu-Ray March 20 – would have been up for more awards if the Academy had a different voting body.
“If only the Academy were composed of teenage girls, I might be looking at a Best Picture nom,” he joked. “It’s a scandal that there are not more teenage girls in the Academy.”

Chris Weitz would’ve removed at least one scene from ‘The Twilight Saga: New Moon’
If there was one scene in The Twilight Saga: New Moon that you could pinpoint as the source for New Moon movie discussions-a-plenty, would it be the moment when “Alice” shares her vision of the future with “Aro” to save “Bella?”
Well, according to BuzzSugar New Moon director Chris Weitz said that the amount of criticism the scene has received has made it so that, if he could turn back time, he’d remove it altogether.
When you go back and watch it again, are there things you’d like to change if you could?
I would like to never have shot Rob and Kristen running through the forest and Kristen’s just turned into a vampire. Because everybody always laughs and it makes me feel terrible. [Laughs] I would have shot it a different way so it wouldn’t get that response. But otherwise, I’m very happy with things.”
So, just to see where everyone is at on this issue . . . did you love this scene or hate it? Why?

5 New Moon Secrets Releaved

In Entertainment Weekly’s exclusive 2009 issue New Moon director Chris Weitz reveals 5 hidden secrets from the movie you probaby didn’t notice. Now, from Entertainment Weekly we bring to you the 5 secrets from New Moon:
1. Hidden wolves
‘’Look for an upside-down engraving of a wolf in the shot of the bowl in which Carlisle burns his first-aid equipment; on Jacob’s T-shirt when he meets Bella in the school parking lot for the first time; and a wolf trinket on the dream-catcher that he gives her.’’2. Vampire elevator music
‘’When Edward, Bella, and Alice get into the elevator on their way to see the Volturi, the music playing in the elevator is from Strauss’ Die Fledermaus (a.k.a. The Bat).’’3. Emotional baggage?
‘’When Bella is looking for the meadow where she and Edward are seen lying down together, she carries a golden compass clipped to her backpack — part of my baggage!’’4. Speedy suitor
‘’We did a little trick when Edward gets out of Bella’s truck and they’re arguing. We wanted to show Edward moving impossibly quickly, so we put Rob right next to the camera but out of sight, and used a double dressed like Rob in the driver’s seat. When Edward gets out, it’s the double, and then Rob steps in front of the camera, and it looks as if he got there faster than humanly possible.’’5. Look it up
‘’And last but not least: If you want to know what Jacob says before he almost kisses Bella, ask a Quileute! The address of the Quileute tribal council is quileutenation.org. I can tell you this much: He says, Kwop kilawtley.’’
Now, after reading these secrets, did you happen to notice these little secrets?

‘Eclipse’ Is Coming In June, And Here’s What We’re Hoping Will Sell It To A Wider Audience

Since the release of New Moon this November, fans are already gearing up for the third installment of the series. Eclipse which will be released in theaters in June of 2010, critics haven’t had the same appreciation for the vampire romance. In a recent article from MTV, they put together a list of suggestions to help make the film better for everyone.
Amp up the Bella and Edward romance
“Twilight” established the potent romance between Bella and Edward, but “New Moon” sacrificed much of the chemistry for the sake of Bella’s growing bond with Jacob. Granted, the reason why Edward was mostly absent during “New Moon” was because he broke up with Bella and was moping around in an apartment for months on end, but Chris Weitz forgot to reestablish why exactly Bella and Edward were so in love. With “Eclipse,” we hope David Slade explores their connection, especially with so many fans jumping ship to Team Jacob after seeing Taylor Lautner’s abs.
Make the fight scenes more action-packed
Yes, we understand that a lot of care went into making the CGI werewolves in “New Moon,” and thank goodness the fight scenes in the second “Twilight” installment were better than the first, but the final battle in “Eclipse” is the most action-packed part of the entire “Twilight Saga.” With David Slade’s previous vampire film “30 Days of Night” under his belt, we can expect some intense action, but we’d like to remind him we want to see some newborn vamps being torn limb from limb anyways (and not just in slow motion).
Make the film more appealing to a non-”Twilight” audience
There are a lot of elements in “Eclipse” that could attract an audience not made up solely of Twilighters. In “New Moon,” there was no effort spent on setting up the story from the previous book or explaining why Bella and Edward are so in love. “Eclipse” was the book that made Stephenie Meyer’s vampire series what it is today, and hopefully “Eclipse” the movie will break the film series out to a larger audience as well.
For anyone who read the book knows that Eclipse is filled with a lot more information about the love triangle, Bella becoming a vampire, and the battles against one another. Hopefully Hollywood does it’s justice and doesn’t leave anything out of order.
