Eclipse’ director David Slade adding more Robert Pattinson to the film
Last week, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse director David Slade let everyone know that the film was in “phase 1″ of “director’s cut” screenings with the film studio, Summit Entertainment.
Today, David Slade confirmed the fact that edits are now happening, saying “Cutting like crazy, the film is getting closer working through the weekends again, adding more EDWARD!”
Adding more Edward (portrayed by Robert Pattinson)? Probably a good idea. While The Twilight Saga: New Moon was expected to have less of “Edward Cullen” in the picture and more of the werewolves (namely, “Jacob Black” by Taylor Lautner), Eclipse is – literally – a different story.
Back in December, Slade promised fans that “Edward seems to be a really strong presence, the intensity of the love story & rivalry between Jacob is in the driving seat,” but he also stated that there was a “great state of balance” and that “it’s all even with the action sequences.”
Looks like the studio cuts are beckoning the weight of the balance to favor the relationship end . . . maybe? Any other thoughts on the message?

‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ is in ‘phase 1′ studio screening

The first screening of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse – by “anyone out of editorial” that is – is happening now, according to a recent update issued by the film’s director, David Slade. According to him, today is a “big day” as the first “director’s cut” is at “phase 1″ with the studio’s first screening of the film.
A director’s cut of a film, of course, is not the final cut (and it probably won’t even be made available to the public). The final cut is usually reserved for someone in the studio, who can make a few adjustments here and there to make the film more presentable in the box office. Those changes, for the most part, are not usually drastic. (Obviously, with varying studio interests and agendas, that statement is a heavily case-by-case matter. Who’s to say how many changes will be necessary for Eclipse.)
For the meantime, though, this news means that things are progressing in the completion arena. While that doesn’t necessarily give us any indication of when we should expect the first trailer for the film (though prior speculations may still be applicable), it does mean that the film is that much closer to being finished and ready for the theaters!

Kristen Stewart says ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ director David Slade is ‘very technical’
Kristen Stewart who was recently promoting The Runaways at the Sundance Film Festival, she shared her opinions on Eclipse’s director David Slade.
Said she about Slade, according to HitFix, “He’s a very technical director. Very.” Stewart continued on to describe Slade as “thoughtful,” “conceptual,” and “deliberate.”
Her words run parallel to those issued by one of the Twilight series’ newest cast members, Xavier Samuel (Riley). Just a couple of weeks ago, Samuel was quoted to say that David Slade was “very technically astute” and “uber intelligent.”
Stewart issued her opinions on what his technical abilities would hold for the Twilight saga, though she hasn’t seen the film. “I think it’s going to be cool for ‘Twilight,‘” she said. “you’re not going to see, like, a bunch of Steadicam.”
Some might remember Slade’s offering of photos from the set of Eclipse – one of which happened to be his type of camera. Also, when issuing other photographs, Slade offered descriptive associations of the at-hand shot and the technique utilized in capturing it.
Any thoughts?

David Slade updates about ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’: ‘Trailer is out of my hands’
If you’ve heard about any screenings of the film or previews of the trailer for The Twilight Saga; Eclipse, those are false. Director David Slade once again doesn’t know when the trailer will be released.
Today, Slade issued a short series of updates on his twitter about the status of the project.
“Edit getting finer and finer, film now running at a great length. Lots of SFX work to do but we feel good.
So just to clear this up, the Trailer is out of my hands, I would love to release one but its down to Summit. I don’t know when.”
“Bah paranoid people, the good people at Summit and I get on great. I just don’t know when the trailer will be released.”
Also one important thing to note is the Twitter users wouldn’t benefit by asking Slade for the trailer, so in other words don’t ask. Just be patient like the rest of us.
“Onwards we cut, I am watching the great Art Jones tighten our edit, poor Jacob is on his broken rib bed, raining outside, lunch soon..“

Xavier Samuel says ‘Eclipse’ director David Slade is ‘very technically astute’
Xavier Samuel, the newest addition to the Twilight Saga came out and confirmed that many other’s have suspected about Eclipse director David Slade. “He’s uber intelligent, very technically astute director.” Samuel stated
If you are following Slade on Twitter you’ll know how active the director has been on updating the filming of the movie. From the many images and statements, many have gathered the impression he has certainly left is methodical and precise.
“It seems like David has approached it very differently to the previous directors – I think he’s really embracing the darker side of it, which is really cool,” Xavier Samuel continued.
After having two different directors in the movie, who knows how Slade’s image will compare to the rest of the story. I feel that he will have done his job and beyond in this movie, I’m not going to keep my hopes up, but however I will keep an open mind. Will you?
