Robert Pattinson is one of GQ’s ‘most important people in UK menswear’

Robert Pattinson (“Edward Cullen” in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse and “Tyler Hawkins” in Remember Me)’s fashion sense has easily escalated him to the top of several high-brow men’s fashion recognition lists, including – recently – those of GQ and Vogue.

Now, he’s been named one of the “most important people in UK menswear” by GQ.com.

According to them, Robert Pattinson “is today’s ultimate male fashion icon.”

Pattinson was named number five out of one hundred men on the list, topped only by Sir Philip Green, Harold Tillman, Paul Kelly, and Sir Paul Smith – all of whom are in the business of menswear and accessories sales and development.

Aside from Pattinson, the rest of the top ten list also looks a little purist, hosting mostly designers, creative directors, and CEOs related to the fashion industry itself.

In fact, the next highest placement of a person not specifically involved in the business at large is David Beckham . . . but even he moonlights as a regular male model when he’s not kicking around a soccer ball.

Daniel Craig, a.k.a. “James Bond,” is the next closest thing – placed at number fifty-eight.

Pattinson’s placement on GQ’s list, then, certainly speaks to his capacity to influence.

I have to completely agree and totally deserves this, don’t you? ;)

Robert Pattinson & Kristen Stewart one of ‘Top-Earning On-Screen Couples’

Just a few days ago, The Twilight Saga: New Moon and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were announced as two of Vanity Fair’s “Top Moneymakers,” and, today, Forbes included the two in their list of “Hollywood’s Top-Earning On-Screen Couples.”

Of course, these figures are based upon the successes of the films in which the two appear as a couple (as opposed to Vanity Fair’s consideration of their personal salaries), but here’s what Forbes had to say about the matter.

[T]he multi-movie onslaught of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart may prove the most powerful and profitable of all. With just two of the four expected Twilight films under their belts, their pairing raked in $1.1 billion at the box office. The third installment, Eclipse, hits theaters at the end of June.

Some speculate that The Twilight Saga: Eclipse will pull in more revenue than did The Twilight Saga: New Moon or Twilight, but others suspect – upon, arguably, skewed grounds – that the film will not fare as well as New Moon.

In either case, this year’s intake is certain to keep Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart right there up on this list for next year.

I do believe they make a cute couple, don’t you? ;)

Car crash scene one of ‘Top 10 Romantic Movie Moments’

The Twilight car crash scene was certainly one of the more vivid and pertinent scenes of allĀ  the book, and the film (with Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart as “Edward Cullen” and “Bella Swan”) did not neglect to incorporate that moment into the on-screen story between those characters.

It was pivotal to the forward motion of the characters’ relationship, and it was also an exhibition of Edward Cullen’s strength and capability as (then unknown to Bella) a vampire.

Already, that particular scene was chosen as number four on AOL Moviefone’s “Top 25 Movie Moments of the Decade,” and, now, Fandango has selected it as fifth on their “Top 10 Romantic Movie Gestures” list.

Says Fandango, “Ask any girl under the age of 20 (and many older) to name their most romantic movie gesture, and it could very likely be Edward (Robert Pattinson) throwing himself in front of a speeding van to save his one and only Bella (Kristen Stewart). Vampire lore — and box office receipts — would never be the same.”

Eclipse’ director David Slade adding more Robert Pattinson to the film

Last week, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse director David Slade let everyone know that the film was in “phase 1″ of “director’s cut” screenings with the film studio, Summit Entertainment.

Today, David Slade confirmed the fact that edits are now happening, saying “Cutting like crazy, the film is getting closer working through the weekends again, adding more EDWARD!”

Adding more Edward (portrayed by Robert Pattinson)? Probably a good idea. While The Twilight Saga: New Moon was expected to have less of “Edward Cullen” in the picture and more of the werewolves (namely, “Jacob Black” by Taylor Lautner), Eclipse is – literally – a different story.

Back in December, Slade promised fans that “Edward seems to be a really strong presence, the intensity of the love story & rivalry between Jacob is in the driving seat,” but he also stated that there was a “great state of balance” and that “it’s all even with the action sequences.”

Looks like the studio cuts are beckoning the weight of the balance to favor the relationship end . . . maybe? Any other thoughts on the message?
