‘Twilight’ hate getting boring?
.jpg)
In recent months, particularly those following the vociferous roar that Twilight fans made in the box office with The Twilight Saga: New Moon, media treatment of Twilight fans has (for the most part) been rather deferential . . . a “well, if you like it, that’s your opinion” attitude has seemingly ingrained itself into the general media consensus on the subject of Twilight.
This, to say the least, has been great.
However, as with a great many things popular, there are still those that simply hate the series for one reason or another.
Most Twilight fans aren’t bothered by the idea of someone not liking the same books or movies that they do. You find anti-feminist undertones in the Saga and want to talk about that? Fine. Not a fan of the actors’ facial expressions? Okay, no problem. The thing that gets most Twilight fans is the idea that some people out there are being spiteful just to be spiteful, not really knowing or caring what or who they’re talking about. The “oh the vampires are sparkly so you all must be unfamiliar with real vampires” diatribe is trite and so is the stereotype that Twilight fans are all young, immature, and illiterate.
What are your thoughts on all of this “twilight hate”?

‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ still images revealed
Just released by Twilight film studio Summit Entertainment are three new The Twilight Saga: Eclipse still images!
These come on the heels of today’s announcement that Stephenie Meyer is releasing a new Twilight book and that the book’s storyline has been incorporated into the script for the film.
The three images are each different. This one, pictured right, is of the Cullen family in what looks to be a protective or defensive stance. This is probably derived from the battle sequences in the film.
The next is of Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Jacob (Taylor Lautner) together looking at what seems to be the campfire during Billy Black’s Quileute story-telling scene.

New Moon’ DVD extras continuing to unfold
For the most part, the special features found on the various DVDs for The Twilight Saga: New Moon have been revealed and discussed. That is, for the United States’ versions at least.
Internationally, though, features are continuing to unfold.
The French DVD of New Moon has an interview with Taylor Lautner where he talks about his portrayal of “Jacob Black” in the film.
In the interview, Lautner revealed that when there was some speculation as to whether he’d be asked back to reprise his role, he just paid attention to “the things [he] could control.”
The Japanese special edition version of the DVD includes clips from that press conference in Tokyo, Japan Robert Pattinson and Chris Weitz attended to promote the film.
In both new features, the subtitles are written in the native language of the country where it came from, but it’s still fairly easy to infer what the questions being asked of the talent were.

Breaking Dawn’ update: some really big names in the bunch for directors
.jpg)
One of the things Twilight fans most look forward to is that moment when the reality that The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn is coming to fruition sets in.
Well, Entertainment Weekly has a very interesting new bit of insight as to the last bit at least and reports that a decision as to which filming location will be chosen is still in the works.
According to them, at least three, very high profile directors have been vetted for the post of directing the fourth portion of the Saga.
“Sources tell EW that the studio has reached out to at least three top-notch directors, including Sofia Coppola (Lost in Translation), Gus Van Sant (Milk), and Bill Condon (Dreamgirls) to gauge their interest in what is likely to be two movies.”
A lot of folks speculated that the news would come after a successful showing for New Moon, but it makes sense that announcement of this sort of magnitude would be held off until The Twilight Saga: Eclipse has had its day (or weeks, months) in the theater.

Engagement Ring Confirmed & EXCLUSIVE Costume Details!

The same costume designer who clothed the “New Moon” cast, Tish Monaghan, returned to duty for the third movie in the saga, “Eclipse.” Lucky for us — that meant she was just a phone call away. Yes, it’s true after the first trailer for “Eclipse” hit the Internet, we were plagued by many probing questions related to the fashions of the main characters. Besides, uh, those wigs (which we got Kristen Stewart herself to talk about), there is one other thing that many of you are dying to know: is that an engagement ring on Bella’s finger in the pics from the meadow?
Don’t worry we got to the bottom of this “rocky” mystery and, in the process, found out a bunch of other fun facts from Tish about the wardrobe that you’ve seen so far in the trailer. So step back inside the “Twilight” closet…
IS THAT AN ENGAGEMENT RING?
YES! “This is an engagement ring on Bella’s finger!” Tish confirmed. “This is something that was made for her by the props department.” In other words: she doesn’t have a whole lotta info to share on it. So, until we are able to investigate further, we should point out that the ring (at least what we can see of it from our extreme zoom-in) looks like he could be quite similar to the domed oval one authorized by author Stephenie Meyer after the “Eclipse” book came out, which is for sale by Infinite Jewelry Co. Check out a 2009 article from the Salt Lake Tribune for more information on the story behind that ring.

Eclipse’ sneak peek revealed
The Twilight Saga: Eclipse has made its way to the surface, and my friends over at Twilight Lexicon have identified the clip as one which appears on Walmart’s The Twilight Saga: New Moon DVD.
The video reveals a great many things that were left unseen by the first trailer for Eclipse, including the appearance of Leah Clearwater and Seth Clearwater, the newborn vampire army in action, some of the fight sequences (and practice rounds . . . Edward versus Carlisle for instance), and Quil as a shirtless pup.
In addition to showing small snippets of the film in production, the feature also includes small portions of the Eclipse cast’s on-set interviews.
About that story, Kristen Stewart explains her take on the situation of Bella in Eclipse, saying “I’m totally in love with my best friend, but just not as much as my true love who obviously is Edward.”
Bryce Dallas Howard, who comes in to this film as Victoria, states her character’s position as well. “With James, it was a game, you know, it was a hunt. In this film it’s vengeance.”
Michael Welch, too, adds insight into the film’s making. “They’re going to go a little more intense, a little darker. That’s part of the reason why they got David Slade who is traditionally a very dark director.”
What do you think?! I’m WAY more excited now
